Sea Pines Resort - Hilton Head Island, SC

In 1956, just five short years after the introduction of electricity onto Hilton Head Island, Charles Fraser purchased land on the southwestern tip of the island in order to develop the community now known as Sea Pines Plantation. The first of Hilton Head's plantation communities, Sea Pines covers over 5,000 acres of thriving natural environment reminiscent of Eden and offers over five miles of gorgeous public-accessible beaches.

Real Estate Information - Homes, Condos, Lots

In 1958, the first deed to a Sea Pines Plantation lot was signed and within four years, beachfront prices grew by close to 50%. Examining the current real estate market for new homesites, homes, villas, and condos, it's easy to see why the prices have continued to grow so drastically. From small, picturesque cottages to sprawling mansions, the Sea Pines Plantation community contains everything you could want when looking to invest in a home. Numerous single- to five-bedroom homes are available, ranging from $450,000 to over $8,000,000.

Starting at only $300,000-a small fee considering the location-either renting or purchasing is within reason. Potential buyers may choose among one- to four-bedroom for-sale villas and condos with as many view choices as the full-size homes, and options for potential renters include the vacation rentals surrounding the Harbour Town Village. The prices crest around $2 million, making Sea Pines Plantation villas and condos very affordable vacation or year-round homes.

Oceanfront lots can cost over $6 million but a patio lot can cost as little as $295k. Homesites with golf or lagoon views often sell for over $1 milion. Currently, there are four beachfront lots with varying price tags, but the number of lots for sale is always subject to change.

Sea Pines installed Hilton Head Island's first security gates in 1967, and to date remains secure with two 24-hour security entrance facilities on site. Security personnel also patrol the plantation's streets, and they can (and do) issue tickets fining offenders for the infraction of plantation rules. Additional protection is provided by the Beaufort County Sheriff's Department's deputies.

Resort Features

Harbour Town Village and Marina

The Harbour Town village and marina was fashioned after small French and Italian harbors and developed for intimacy and ambience. This Mediterranean-influenced center offers independently-owned and operated clothing/jewelry boutiques, craft shops, dining, live music entertainment, and every water sport available. Harbour Town has a park and a tree house for children, as well as a nature center. The Gregg Russell Playground, named for the entertainer of Harbour Town for 25 years running, is located right next to Liberty Oak. Sea Pines' quaint village center also offers a free trolley that runs daily, with varying hours of operation throughout the year between Harbour Town, South Beach Village, and Turtle Lane Beach Club.

Harbour Town Yacht Basin

Consider owning a 'dockominium' at the yacht club: it's like a condo on the water, but your land is your boat slip. The many amenities available at the Yacht Basin include the unique shops, restaurants, and a grocery store all in the same complex. Concerts and other forms of entertainment are frequently held on the nearby golfing green where Harbour Town Golf Links sponsors tournaments including the Verizon Heritage every year.

South Beach Village The second marina in the Sea Pines Resort is designed after New England fishing villages and is located at the southernmost tip of Hilton Head Island. Nature tours, dolphin tours, kayaking, and parasailing are only a handful of the activities available near the home of The Salty Dog Café. For accommodations, the colorful South Beach Inn is located nearby at the southern tip of the island and arranges both weekly and nightly rates.

Activities

54 Holes of Golf

Sea Pines contains the island's first golf course, the Ocean Course designed by George Cobb, was built in 1959. Restructured by Mike McCumber in September, 1995, the highlight of the Ocean Course is its 15th hole with a sweeping view of the ocean.

George Cobb also designed the 1967 Sea Marsh Course. Remodeled by Clyde Johnson in 1990, the Sea Marsh course-like the Ocean Course-is known not only for its age and elegance but for becoming a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary. Watch out for the 13th hole; it extends for 163 yards.

Harbour Town Golf Links, developed in 1970 by Pete Dye and Jack Nicklaus, is and has been home to the PGA's Verizon Heritage Classic since 1969, when it was first won by Arnold Palmer. Among the many features of this famous course is its photogenic 18th hole, with Harbour Town's Lighthouse in the background. Noted for excellence in design and playing potential, the par-71 Harbour Town Golf Links has been ranked highly among the country's finest golf courses by multiple magazines since 1971.

Championship Tennis

The Sea Pines Racquet Club, directed by world-renowned coach and U.S. Open and Wimbledon champion Stan Smith, hosted the Family Circle Cup from 1973 to 2000, and frequently other tournaments, such as the Corel Champions Tour, the Dupont All-American, the World Invitational, and the Stan Smith Invitational, among others. The club boasts 23 clay courts and offers private and semi-private lessons.

Forest Preserve

When Charles Fraser began developing Sea Pines in the early '50s, he concentrated on keeping the island's abundance of natural beauty as untouched as possible. To this day Sea Pines' Forest Preserve covers approximately 605 acres, home to diverse flora and fauna including over 200 species of critters as well as lagoons and salt marshes. Here you will find a Wildflower Meadow, a thousand-foot-long boardwalk, the Low Ropes Team Building Course, and miles of bike trails and walking paths. Even fishing is allowed, albeit with the correct permit.

Are you a history fanatic? Sea Pines Plantation Forest Preserve has its share of historic landmarks. The 4,000-year-old Indian Shell Ring, for example, is believed to have been constructed around 1450 B. C. A circle of shells and bones piled several feet high, it is one of only twenty shell rings still in existence. Those responsible for its assembly are also believed to have invented pottery here, in North America.

The Stoney-Baynard ruins, once an 18th century plantation house, are now open for tours. The property is covered with oyster shells and its architecture includes porthole-shaped windows.

Horseback Riding

Lawton Stables is home to 50+ American Saddlebred horses, a breed generated by crossing Narragansett Pacer, Thoroughbred, and Morgan bloodlines to develop gorgeous, well-tempered animals now often used for show. Lawton Stables offers-at affordable rates-not only English riding lessons to residents and visitors, but also pony rides for children and guided tours through Sea Pines' fantastic natural Forest Preserve.

This picturesque, sprawling community, bordering the Atlantic Ocean on the east and Calibogue Sound on the west, is ideal for vacationers and residents alike. Villas, Condos, Homes, and available Lots for building that dreamhouse abound in this massive complex just waiting for the perfect family to enjoy the many amenities offered.

Find tips about dissolving sugar and dangerous blood sugar levels at the Sugar Facts website.

By all likelihood, Jim Furyk was already on his way to winning the Verizon Heritage on the first playoff hole Sunday evening at Harbour Town Golf Links in Hilton Head, S.C.

Still, when Furyk officially did claim the title, it didn't feel like victories are supposed to feel.

"It was an awkward moment," he said. "An awkward way to win."

Furyk was on his way to victory because his second shot on No.18, the hole where the picturesque old lighthouse stands guard, had landed on the green and trickled to the back fringe, sitting in wait for a reasonably easy two-putt par. Furyk's playoff opponent, Brian Davis, meanwhile, had put himself in a far-more challenging predicament in the sudden-death playoff.

Davis, a 35-year-old Englishman seeking his first victory in his sixth season on the PGA Tour, only had an opportunity to hit his third shot because he wasn't attempting it at high tide.

With his second swing on the par-4 18th Davis had pushed his taylormade golf ball left. It kicked left into rocks that border the shoreline of the harbor, and then bounced into the hard, wet sand and clumps of sea grass left behind by a receding water line.

So, at best it was a long shot, but, while no bargain, Davis was remarkably still alive.

At least Davis was until he blasted out of the soggy mess with an extremely fine shot to inside 30 feet of the pin -- and promptly summoned Tour tournament director and rules official Slugger White over to call a penalty on himself.

The location from where Davis hit the shot was beyond the hazard stakes. When inside a hazard, a player is prohibited by the Rules of Golf from touching a loose impediment before the shot.

Davis told White that, as he brought his wholesale golf club back during takeaway, he believed the backswing had caused a stalk in a clump of soggy, dead reeds to move.

"I didn't feel it. But I was pretty sure I saw -- I was actually closing my eyes coming down into the sand," Davis said. "It was one of those things I thought I saw movement out of the corner of my eye."

Moments later, a television replay confirmed Davis' fear and the two-stroke penalty made Furyk's routine two-putt par and second victory of the season almost anticlimactic.

"It was really strange, all these reeds that were loose, most of them were going this way, and this one reed was sticking out just outside his ball (used taylor made golf clubs)," White said. "He looked and looked, and when he took the club away he ticked it. And he immediately came to me -- I couldn't see it. The wind was blowing, so I couldn't see it against the sand. And he assured me that he ticked it when he took the club away. He called it on himself immediately."

About the Author ：http://www.mygolfwholesale.com. With the current global economy, there are many deals to be had and every penny saved is a plus for families. One of your first stops should be a travel agent or travel agent website. travel agencies can work out complete vacation packages at a larger reduced rate than can the average individual. Simple economics works in a travel agencies favor as they deal in large mass buying and selling of tickets. Theme park admission prices can drastically be reduced,if not fully free by simply investigating what deals these agencies are offering. Call a local one today or visits their website. These types of deals change frequently, almost like airline tickets, so staying in contact with an agent is advised. In the past few years i have calculated the savings by using a travel agencies and honsetly it cannot be beat on the open amrket by any individual. For example, two years ago we booked a trip to Disney Resorts. The total price for 4 people including resort room for 7 days and 7 nights AND included them park admission to Disney World, Animal Kingdom, Epcot Center and Hollywood Studios was $2,300. Theme park ticket prices alone would have cost 4 people that mjuch for 7 days so in essence the lodging was tossed in almost free.

<h6 style="MARGIN: 1em 0px 0px; As of 2010, the Ocean Course was rated 25th in Golf Digest's 100 Greatest Golf Courses in America.

The Ocean Course is a par 72 course. From the tournament tees, the Ocean Course measures 7,356 yards with a slope rating of 155 and course rating of 79.6, the highest in the country, according to the United States Golf Association. The course has unmarked tee boxes that can stretch the course to 7,873 yards. Because of its large slopes, numerous bunkers, and challenging Bermuda grass, it was named the toughest course in America in 2010 by Golf Digest.

The Ocean Course was featured in the 2000 film The Legend of Bagger Vance. In October 2008, the Ocean Course became the first course to be available to play in the online video game that was developed by World Golf Tour. Universal Studios is actually almost 2 different theme parks, one is called Island of Adventures and the other Universal Studios. Island of Adventures is where the new Harry Potter ride and village is located. Both parks have some entertaining rides and are right next to each other. We were able to see and enjoy most of both parks in one full day, however it may take 2-3 days if you want to catch all the entertaining interactive shows. If you are planning a trip to enjoy these theme parks i would highly suggest staying at one of the Universal resort hotels like the Hard Rock Hotel. One of the benefits of staying at one of these resorts is you get an early access to the Harry Potter ride one hour before the park even opens. This is really neat and can pay off as during the day the ride wait time can get to be close to an hour. The other benefit is they offer free water taxi to theme park via Citywalk which is right at the entrance. The Hard Rock Hotel is also a very short walk down a lighted path for those seeking excersize on vacation. Overall the trip is one worth making and later in the column i will go over each ride and attraction.

Many of the rides have height requirements of 44 inches or higher, so this is important to remember when bringing younger children to the park. Thrilling rides like The Hulk" require you to be 54 inches. Overall the park ahs many rides for all ages and is customized for children around the ages of 7-15 easily. Dudley Do Right has a water ride where you will get totally soaked. and The Popeye ride you will also get soaked. During the summer months it is best to plan a day to wear only your bathing suit and a shirt and enjoy the cool water rides.

Related articles

Harry Potter World Coming To Universal Studios Hollywood (kymx.radio.com)

Universal Studios Jaws Attraction Closing (myq105.radio.com)

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter comes to Hollywood at Universal Studios theme park (dailymail.co.uk)

Disneyland California

Every family needs to take a summer vacation to Disneyworld or Disneyland. At the present time you can chart out your trip, and get plenty of useful information, at home with just a click of a mouse.

Despite the fact that it is much smaller than Orlando's Walt Disney World, Disneyland California has a unique place in the Disney pantheon as the abode of the creative Magic Kingdom ,the classic theme park with Adventureland, Fantasyland, etc. that come into sight also at Disney World in Orlando, and at other Disneylands in the whole world. This theme park -- called the Disneyland Park-- is at the moment only part of the Disneyland Resort; in 2001, a subsequent theme park was commenced, the 55-acre Disney's California Adventure Park, that is going through an enormous reconstruction. Families should sketch a tour minimum of two days, to visit both the parks peacefully and without panicing the whole thing.

For its succeeding park, Disneyland could have pinched inspiration from Walt Disney World and vanished with an idea tried and true such as Epcot in fact, there were preparations at one time to build up a park called "Westcot" or, given its closeness to Hollywood, Disney-MGM Studios as the company has finished with its second Paris park. As a substitute, Disney tried something audicious and evolved an completely new park based on California--the state and the state of mind. Nevertheless, the company failed to remember something extremely important as it was scheming DCA: places of attraction. With about one-third the number of rides and shows at Disneyland Park, there is not as much to do here. And an astonishing number of the park's rides are off-the-shelf rotating and whirling rides. Initially, numerous of the attractions did not catch the attention of the young children. With the opening of the Bug's Land area, it has changed for the better.

For all of its inadequacy however, DCA does have some grand magnetism and pulls and of course great and amazing themes. And with trimmings such as the Tower of Terror and the Aladdin stage show, it is developing and growing in the right direction. IT is now possible to fly to Cuba. U.S. President Barack Obama has directed officials to look at the possibility of starting regularly scheduled commercial flights between the United States and Cuba, the White House said on Monday.a Cuban American can now take a 45-minute flight to visit relatives in Cuba at any time for about $500 per round trip.

From Miami, seven charter companies currently fly to Cuba. All go to Havana, and some also fly to Camaguey, Holguin, Cienfuegos and Santiago de Cuba. In total, they fly more than 35 flights a week from Miami. Carriers also fly from New York.

Obama is also ending restrictions on how much money Cuban- Americans can send family members, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs told reporters today. U.S. telecommunications companies can now apply for licenses to operate in Cuba, easing the commercial embargo against the country, a move that an administration statement said may enable them to provide television and mobile-phone service in Cuba.

“This is a significant step in reaching out to the Cuban people and supporting their desires to live in freedom,” said Daniel Restrepo, a special assistant to the president. Competition in the Caribbean for tourism has led to a lot of great deals out there, which helps out considerably for those looking for cheap flights to Cuba. With lots of charter flights to choose from and a growing amount of Cuba vacation packages, it’s almost harder to pay full price than find a deal. Again, should you book your Cuba airline tickets during the high season, you can expect to pay more, but that doesn’t mean the prices exactly skyrocket. It’s still possible to find deals during these months by simply weighing your options.

Jose Martí International Airport outside Havana is the main gateway and is served by major airlines from points in Canada, Mexico, and Europe. So if you arrive in Cuba before 8 pm you can ask the Taxi driver to bring you there and wait for the bus (1 CUC for the Taxi and a few cents for the bus).

There are also regular holiday charter flights to resorts such as Varadero, and these can sometimes be less expensive than those going to Havana.

The airports are all fully-air-conditioned and quite modern, compared to other destinations in the Caribbean, offer good medical care in case of problems, and are usually relatively hassle free.

Your checked luggage, though, is at great risk. It is increasingly common for your luggage to be opened and anything of value removed. The formal announcement was being made at the White House Monday afternoon, during presidential spokesman Robert Gibbs' daily briefing with reporters. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because the announcement had not yet been made. Obama had promised to take these steps as a presidential candidate. It has been known for over a week that he would announce them ahead of his attendance this weekend at a Summit of the Americas in Trinidad and Tobago. "There are no better ambassadors for freedom than Cuban Americans," Obama said in a campaign speech last May in Miami, the heart of the U.S. Cuban-American community. "It's time to let Cuban Americans see their mothers and fathers, their sisters and brothers. It's time to let Cuban American money make their families less dependent upon the Castro regime." Other steps taken Monday include expanding the things allowed in gift parcels being sent to Cuba, such as clothes, personal hygiene items, seeds, fishing gear and other personal necessities. The administration also will begin issuing licenses to allow telecommunications and other companies to provide cell and television services to people on the island, and to allow family members to pay for relatives on Cuba to get those services, the official said. Last May, former President George W. Bush announced a new policy that people living in the United States could include cell phones in gift parcels sent to Cubans. At the time, Bush aides said that U.S. residents could pay for the cell service attached to phones they send. However, though American cell phones with service contracts from the U.S. work on some parts of the island, service is not always reliable and depends on the phones' specifications. Sending money to senior government officials and Communist Party members remains prohibited under Obama's new policy. Restrictions imposed by the Bush administration had limited Cuban travel by Americans to just two weeks every three years. Visits also were confined to immediate family members. Francisco Hernandez, head of the exile group the Cuban American National Foundation, was once a staunch supporter of travel restrictions but supported Obama's announcement, saying he hopes it will inspire both sides to reconsider long-held positions. It will help Cubans become more independent of the state "not only in economic terms but in terms of information, and contacts with the outside world," said Hernandez, who was imprisoned by the Cuban government for nearly two years after participating in the 1961 failed Bay of Pigs invasion. Miami travel agent Tesie Aral said her phone has been ringing nonstop in anticipation of the announcement, with a tenfold increase last Friday alone. "People were already planning to travel more based on their ability to go every 12 months," said Aral, owner of ABC Charters. "Whether they can travel more frequently than that depends on the economy." Also in that Miami speech nearly a year ago, Obama promised to depart from what he said had been the path of previous politicians on Cuba policy — "they come down to Miami, they talk tough, they go back to Washington, and nothing changes in Cuba." "Never, in my lifetime, have the people of Cuba known freedom. Never, in the lives of two generations of Cubans, have the people of Cuba known democracy," he said then. "This is the terrible and tragic status quo that we have known for half a century — of elections that are anything but free or fair; of dissidents locked away in dark prison cells for the crime of speaking the truth. I won't stand for this injustice, you won't stand for this injustice, and together we will stand up for freedom in Cuba." He also promised to engage in direct diplomacy with Cuba, "without preconditions" but with "careful preparation" and "a clear agenda."Airlines flying to Cuba Popularity Name Condor flights Air Europa flights Bahamasair flights Aerocaribbean flights Lacsa/Lineas Aereas Costarricenses SA flights Blue Panorama flights Cubana flights Cayman Airways flights JetairFly flights Copa flights Lynx Air International flights Air Caraibes flights Mexicana flights Aeroflot flights LAN Airlines flights Air France flights Martinair flights Corsair flights Thomson Flights flights Virgin Atlantic flights LTU flights flythomascook.com flights Livingston flights Avianca flights Air Berlin flights Air Comet flights Star Airlines flights Iberia flights TACA flights Air Canada flights Air Jamaica flights

Continental Offers Direct Flights From LAX To Cuba LOS ANGELES (CBS) ― Orbitz Petitions Obama To End Cuba Restrictions(6/2/2009) Direct flights from Los Angeles to Havana, Cuba, will resume Tuesday, two months after President Barack Obama vowed to ease travel restrictions to the country. Here the emphasis is, for the most part, on tranquillity and relaxation rather than the 24/7 ‘dance-till-you-drop’ experiences that one may find in other parts of the developed Mediterranean.

Contrary to what some people may believe, each of the major islands of the Balearics has its own individual culture and history. On Menorca, the local people and authorities have always placed a high-value on preserving the natural beauty of their island - and this has paid dividends. Menorca holidays offer you chance to experience that authentic pre-development Balearic culture.

Of course, the island does have some developed resorts. It caters to people of all tastes, however the overriding emphasis is on families, security and a relaxed holiday experience. The capital city of Mahon is a charming mélange of styles of past ages, and its narrow winding streets and cafes are well worth exploring if you are looking for a change from the beach. There are many things to see including one of the largest natural harbours in the world and a gin distillery.

Although not widely known, the British once held Menorca (Admiral Byng, who lost the island to the French, was court-martialled and shot for doing so), and you can still see British influence in some of the city’s architecture. The island is also famous for its beaches, which some claim to be the best in Spain. Some of them have beautiful white sand and safe bathing - although it is always a good idea to check carefully with prevailing local safety guidelines.

Perhaps one of the great attractions of Menorca holidays is that it is relatively easy to get off of the beaten track and away from crowds of people. There are numerous opportunities for walking and experiencing the local wildlife and plant life. Perhaps one of the best-known examples is the now fully restored Cami de Cavalls which is an ancient coastal footpath that completely circumnavigates the island. It was originally used to help keep a look out for pirates and other invaders and today it offers some stunning scenery and the opportunity to nature watch.

So if your idea of a holiday is small and charming rather than big and brash, then Menorca holidays may be for you.

Brenda Jaaback is the Managing Director of Bartle Holidays. In the last 18 months plane tickets have gone from being an all inclusive purchase to a pay as you go plan that has upset many customers.

Airlines point to the following factors when saying that they need to stay with ancillary charges:

* Over the last decade the airline industry lost $55 billion. Losses are projected to continue in 2010.

* Hotels charge different room rates depending on location and amenities. Why not the airlines Recent American Airline surveys showed that over 50 percent of their customers understood why American charges for things that used to be free. * Airline prices were increased 15 times in '08 to offset record fuel costs. In '09 airlines only successfully raised prices four times because the recession contributed to air travel dropping by 25 percent.

* From July to September in '09, the average round trip domestic fare was $306, 15 percent less than one year ago when it was $358.

* In 2010 both attempted price increases failed because discount airlines did not match the higher prices.

Interestingly, the airlines have found that it is much easier to add and increase fees. Checked bag fees increased 50 percent in '09, with total baggage and other fees generating $3.8 billion in revenue.

Some travelers do not have a problem with most fees since they would rather see people pay for services that they use, such as checking bags and requesting pillows and blankets. The alternative is for everyone to pay for these services, regardless of whether they use them.

Where passengers get more upset is when airline start charging for "premium" seats. Initially such seats were usually defined as exit row or bulkhead seats. Now that definition is being expanded by some airlines to include all aisle seats. Ultimately will the only "non-premium" seats be center seats?

The airlines can expect to become increasingly creative when it comes to coming up with new charges to try to bring the industry back to profitability. How soon do you think that airlines will start charging for carry-on bags? www.cheapfares.com

Cheapfares.com employees enjoy sharing their travel points of view and information with others who might share similar interests.

Dirt Cheap Flights - Where? - Hard To Find But They Do Exist!

You may be an expat working overseas, a frequent traveller looking forward to visiting your favourite holiday destination, or a company executive travelling often on business? Definitely you will be looking for dirt cheap flights, and will invariably find this is no easy task. How many times did you have to pay more than the normal price even after looking for discounted tickets in the internet? Late booking can cost you a lot of money. Given below are some tips for planning your trip and researching for cheap flights.

Most airlines sell their discounted tickets well in advance, sometimes even 6-7 months ahead. You can take advantage of this opportunity, if you plan your travel itinerary a few months ahead. Business travellers may find it difficult to cash in as their business meetings are generally scheduled at short notice. However if you are flexible in travel dates, you can take advantage of paying less for airlines whose flights are less likely to be full and sold out on a particular day. Traditionally airlines offer discounted fares during the mid week in domestic sectors, but prices of international flights could vary from day to day.

You can save money by comparing air fares from different airlines flying over the same sector. Within Australia, you may be able to fly cheaper with budget airlines such as Tiger airways, Jetstar or Virgin Blue rather than flying with Qantas. Similarly for domestic travellers within India, there are so many budget airlines such as Kingfisher, Jetlight etc offering dirt cheap flights. Note of caution however when travelling budget airlines is that you need to check if quoted price includes all taxes, carry on luggage, seat allocation and in-flight meals etc, as traditional airlines do not charge extra for these services.

There are travel companies such as Go Holiday (in conjunction with Air Asia) offering travel packages from Australia to many holiday destinations in Malaysia. All these packages can be booked via internet (airasia.com). However you need to pay due attention to details when booking through internet, making sure you click the correct date, destination etc. The slightest mistake can cost you money as no refunds are given once the booking order goes through.

Off peak travel also saves significantly, as airlines and hotels offer cheap rates during off peak periods. It will be expensive to travel during school holidays too. So if you are not travelling with your children, then it will be wise to avoid travelling during school holidays. Basically if you choose not to travel at a time when everyone else travels, you can save money.

Every airline does not fly every day of the week, and often these airlines could be the ones who have got cheapest fares. So it makes sense to check the airline schedule before deciding date of travel. Some airlines offer cheap rates during certain time windows such as after midnight. As an example Virgin Blue's "happy hour" window offers cheap fares 10.00am to 11.00am Australian EST.

The above various ways to find dirt cheap flights may look a bit messy at times, with so many constraints when planning to travel. Therefore one must strive to look for other avenues which may yield better results. You will certainly be better off by finding short-cuts which reveals more secrets to find better deals.

If you would like to discover sure fire secrets in looking for dirt cheap flights, you can do so here =>> http://www.dirtcheapflights.biz/

Source: http://www.submityourarticle.com

Permalink: http://www.submityourarticle.com/a.php?a=93838

Pigeon Forge Zip Lines

Every year, most Americans pack up their families and take them on some sort of excursion as vacation. Even if it is only a few miles from home and only for a day or two, it can be exactly what the doctor ordered in terms of finding peace, re-building relationships with the family, and having some well deserved fun. However, more often than not these vacations become more stress than they are worth as amusement parks become overrun with people trying to accomplish the very same thing. Long lines, expensive entrance fees, and huge crowds can turn what was supposed to be a fun and relaxing vacation into something else entirely. If you have found this to be the case over the last few years when trying to take your family away on a nice trip, then it might be time to consider another alternative to the amusement park. You don't have to give up fun and excitement in order to get away from constant waiting in line, and you don't have to break the bank to have fun. You can get everything that you are looking for and more at Pigeon Forge Zip Lines.

No More Waiting in Line. Ok, so technically you do have to wait your turn at the entertainment venue, but the lines are sure to be much shorter and much faster than they would be at the average amusement park. Plus, you and your family can share in the thrill all together, rather than going separate ways as would commonly happen when riding traditional amusement rides. The Pigeon Forge zip lines are great entertainment for nearly any age and they don't require you to grow old while waiting to ride.

Pay Less, Play More. The opportunity to take a swing at Pigeon Forge Zip Lines comes at a much smaller cost than it would to spend the day at an amusement park. So often, even after paying a hefty sum at the door, theme parks will require that you pay per ride, pay to play games, or pay for different conveniences. It can quickly become a very, very expensive trip. At the ziplines, all cost is calculated up front. Once you pay, you are able to ride for the whole time at no additional expense. There are no hidden fees and the price is far less than what you would pay at a popular amusement park.

Have Fun. Vacation is all about getting away with the family to enjoy yourself and the time together. Ziplining makes that easy. You can spend time in the great outdoors, living the thrill of speeding over the tree tops, while also talking to your family in an entirely new way. It is fast paced excitement that beats that offered by even the best amusement rides.
Interstate 95, from Jacksonville to Miami, Florida is approximately three hundred and fifty miles. This highway may be an interstate, but it is what is located off of the highway that makes it an interesting road. If one starts near Amelia Island, take a ride on a trolley or if you are brave enough take on a ghost tour. If you love learning about towns' histories and seeing historic homes, take the trolley through the historic tour of Fernandina Beach. South of the Amelia Island, if you want to take the scenic route, take A1A and follow it south. This will be right along the coastline, but there are many spots that families can take advantage of. This will take you through state parks, guide you through Fort George Park, which is full of history, and if you like, you can take a ferry ride across to Mayport.
Continuing south will turn into Route 105 and take you to Sisters Creek Bridge, which is a drawbridge, if you have children with you, they will probably be pretty fascinated with this. At the end of Route 105, and after passing through Big Talbot Island State Park, take Route 9A South. If the drawbridge was fascinating, just wait. The bridge scenery isn't over yet, it won't be long before you are crossing Dames Point Bridge, which is two miles long and you will want to take pictures. By continuing on 9A, this will reconnect to Interstate 95, and take you to Daytona Beach, where RV parking is available. This is a great place to stop; you are only about sixty miles from Orlando.
Orlando is packed full of things to do and easy to get to from Daytona Beach, by getting on Interstate 4 South. Most people know that Orlando is the home of Universal Studios, Disneyland, and Sea World, plus so much more. Once you leave Orlando, take 528 East to 407 North, then take 405 East to get to Kennedy Space Center. If you do not want to travel a toll road, do not take 528 East, but use Route 50 East instead. After you visit the island it is easy to get back to Interstate 95, or if you want the more scenic route, you can take the A1A South along the coast for another hundred miles before you arrive at Stuart, Florida. Along the way you will see boats, lighthouses, and take time to stop at Snagg Point and Indian River Lagoon Preserve. From Stuart it is easy to get to Lake Okeechobee and cut across Florida, or you can continue south to Key Largo, it might be best to get back onto Interstate 95 and pick your destination.
Interstate 95 will connect to Interstate 75 that travels north on the other side of the state, so if you decide to go to the tip of Florida, it is easy to get back to the Interstate. Interstate 75 also runs through the Big Cypress National Preserve, which will offer many types of trails, nature activities, sight seeing opportunities and more. Stop in little towns to take advantage of what they offer as well.
Marley Martinerin is a regular contributor to a number of sites and writes articles about such topics as rv accessories, and renting an rv.

<h6 style="MARGIN: 1em 0px 0px; It was passed to help tighten up security on the US border.

The first phase of the WHTI became effective on January 23, 2007. It required everyone to have a US passport book to fly internationally, even if they were only going to Mexico, Canada or the Caribbean. For international air travel, passports are required even for babies.

About a year later, in 2008, the government stopped accepting verbal declarations of citizenship along the border, instead requiring photo ID and proof of citizenship, such as birth certificate, naturalization certificate or certificate of citizenship.

Then, on June 1, 2009, the final phase of the WHTI became effective. Now, in order to return home from Mexico, Canada or the Caribbean by land or by sea, you need one of the following documents:

A US passport book

A US passport card

An enhanced driver's license with an RFID chip (only some states issue these)

A NEXUS, FAST or SENTRI card

However, there are a couple of exceptions. For example, you can still use your birth certificate and driver's license if you are sailing on a closed-loop cruise, one that begins and ends at the same US port. Also, children under the age of 16 can use their birth certificate for land or sea travel to WHTI countries, as can children under the age of 19 traveling with an organized group such as a school group, church group or sports team.

Remember, though, that everyone, no matter how old, needs a passport for air travel to these countries. The exceptions are for land or sea travel only. If you have a trip planned and you don't have a passport yet, you should consider applying for an expedited passport. Expedited passport processing is available for an additional $60 when you submit your application, and cuts processing time down to 3 weeks. For faster turnaround time for your expedited passport you can make an appointment at a passport agency office, or order expedited passport services from a private passport expediter.

Article Source: http://www.articlesbase.com/travel-tips-articles/the-whti-does-it-mean-you-need-an-expedited-passport-2631013.html

About the Author

Alison Kroulek is a freelance writer and blogger with a focus on the travel industry.

<h6 style="MARGIN: 1em 0px 0px; The caverns themselves offers a cool, 52 degree tour through the inside of a mountain.

And yes they have stream trout there that are blind, well halfway blind according to the tour guide. The tour itself is guided by employees of the caverns is lasts about 20 minutes. If you are a rock enthusiast or have young kids, both will love the natural rock formations on display at Linville. I was able to snap some decent pictures of the inside of the cave. You find the pictures below and throughout the article.

Linville Caverns is actually the inside of a mountain called Humpback Mountain. The caverns are full of folklore and stories, which i won;t ruin here for you as they are quite entertaining on the guided trip. The Caverns have been open for tours since the late 1930s and remain the only show caverns in North Carolina. They are located in the heart of the Blue Ridge mountains, If your are traveling the Blue Ridge Parkway, you will need to exit off and get on U.S. Highway 221 North. The caverns are open during the summer from 9-6 and also year round, please check their website for official times during the fall and winter. The cave is home to the Eastern brown bat during the fall and winter months. We visited during the summer so there were none inside, lucky for us. Linville Caverns was a place i visited when i was only 9 years old, the memories it instilled in me prompted me to take my small child so she could have the same memories and adventure. While Linville is not a thrilling modern age amusement park, in this tv and video game age, it is quite nice to enjoy a relaxing small North Carolina town and see the wonderment in a childs eyes of the power and creativity that the earth can produce. The visit is especially reccomended for school age kids that have a interest in rocks, earth or science, as stalagmites, and stalactites are seen up close and personal. let us hope Linville Caverns stays just as it is today, as it was years ago when i visited for future generations to enjoy. Please enjoy my snapshots taken of Linville Caverns below:<img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; The highest point on the parkway (south of Waynesville, near Mount Pisgah in North Carolina) is 6053 feet or 1845 m above sea level (AMSL) on Richland Balsam Mountain at Milepost 431, and is often closed from November to April due to inclement weather such as snow, fog, and even freezing fog from low clouds. I recently took this vacation to view the great Smoky Mountains. It has been nearly 30 years since i had seen these majestic wonders and the trip did not disappoint me.

Leaving South Carolina and heading across the border with North Carolina, one begins to see the mountains rise up out of nowhere. For anyone who hasn't ever seen them it is a sight to behold. My trip took me into Asheville North Carolina, where there i entered the Blue Ridge Parkway.

One thing to keep in mind when traveling the blue Ridge, treat the journey as if it were a hike. There are not many exits and fewer rest stops, restrooms so make sure you have a full tank of gas and let the little ones go before you get on the road. There are exits on and off, they are just few and far between. Believe me,it happened to me, i forgot to check my gas gauge from whence i left home and entered the Blue Ridge parkway heading to Linville Caverns. There was some road construction so a flagman stopped me, i glanced at my gas gaue to see i was sitting on 1/8 of a tank of gas. I asked the construction lady where the enarest exit and gas station was and to my shock she said the next exit was 7 miles then down the mountain road and 16 miles to the nearest town. 16, plus 7 plus a mountain road, my mind was doing some quick calculations but i didn't like the figures So i got back into the car to hear my child yell "Daddy i have to use the bathroom". So down the winding mountain road we went, windows down, and a wing and a prayer to get to Marion North Carolina. needless to say that was our stint on the Parkway,We took highway 221 the rest of the way. However, the parkway was so scenic, the kids enjoyed it as they had never seen the mountains before. Along the route we saw 2 wild turkeys, a quail, one rabbit and a wild rat.The Parkway takes you right by some old and famous stops in North Carolina, Linville Caverns is one and right after that is Grandfather Mountain. We will be covering these two attractions in another article.
<fieldset class="zemanta-related"><legend class="zemanta-related-title">Related articles by Zemanta</legend>

Top 10 Stops Along the Blue Ridge Parkway Near Asheville (prnewswire.com)

A classic road trip on the Blue Ridge Parkway (seattletimes.nwsource.com)

Blue Ridge Parkway - Day 4 & Skyline Drive - Day 1 (seattlepi.com)

Boone, North Carolina: An Appalachian Delight (north-carolina-travel.suite101.com)

Summer Events Along the Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia (prweb.com)

</fieldset>

TheVacation Reviewer

The Vacation Reviewer

Vacation Reviews are good to read before you decide where to visit on your next trip.
